INNOVATION, RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
INNOVATION, for ACOMA, means keeping up with the times.
It means studying, knowing and implementing new technologies and materials that progressively reduce their environmental impact.
It means meeting customers’ needs while remaining competitive in an important market, providing quality products and technical support.
The innovation and development process
Whether it’s printing blankets or coating plates, our R&D department is constantly developing new products and constantly improving the products we already have, to always offer our customers the best possible experience.
Process steps
– Idea
– Theoretical feasibility study, where the R&D team assesses how to intervene and identifies materials
– Production of the first samples for testing
– Laboratory tests
– Industrial testing
– Commercial launch
The input of the idea, the engine of the whole process, may derive from the specific needs of a customer or reflect a market analysis that, evolving, introduces new elements to be taken into consideration (new materials, new inks, new solvents, new technologies). Or the process starts internally, from the need to expand the range of products already available.
The R&D department and our laboratory technicians then come into play, combining their respective skills to find the solution that best suits the initial request.
Depending on the type of product, its development can take anywhere from a few months to 18 months.
Over the past 4 years ACOMA has developed, tested and launched 7 new products and currently has an additional 3 under development.
Sustainable Innovation
For ACOMA, the issue of sustainability is closely linked to innovation and is the most important of the values underpinning its corporate policy.
New technologies and new sustainability regulations are the driving force behind virtuous change, and for ACOMA, change is always proactive. Improving our products and technologies cannot ignore the involvement of an important guest: the environment.
